Stephen Nitta has been coaching with the Joy Lee Archery Academy and representing the club at California State and National tournaments since 2011. He first started coaching with the first Joy Lee Archery Club, the Long Beach Club and also has helped in the Anaheim Club. Since coaching Joy Lee Archery Academy, several of his club archers have been in national youth archery teams and training programs such as the Junior Dream Team (JDT). Following high school, some of these archers have gone on to collegiate archery club and varsity programs. and full time training in the Resident Archery Program. In 2018, he worked with the University of Irvine (UCI) competitive club archery program.

Claire developed a strong passion in archery after trying out at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) archery club as an undergraduate student back in 2021. After graduating from UCl, Claire started to help out with the Joy Lee members. Olympic recurve is her primary focus.

Andy’s favorite thing about coaching is creating a learning environment for the archers to train and achieve breakthrough results. As a respiratory care practitioner by trade, Andy enjoys learning & practicing his craft and sharing his knowledge with others to broaden his understanding. Andy uses that same mindset for everything that he does – including archery. He truly believe that is how we can improve archery as a sport.

Having earned his Level 4 NTS certification in just 3.5 years, he brings a deep understanding of the commitment required for athletic excellence.
Coach Han's coaching philosophy is centered on empowering athletes through; mental toughness, growth mindset, and strong relationships. He looks forward to guiding those on the journey of excellence in archery to reach their goals and beyond

Andrew Kim started coaching archery when his daughter, Isabella Kim (‘24 Olympic Trials Finalist, ‘24 U.S. Archery Team member, ‘23 U18 Indoor National Champion) joined Joy Lee Archery Academy in 2021. To help coach Isabella, he became a student of the sport, under the guidance of Coach Lee and has led Isabella to become one of the top archers in the United States.
Andrew Kim has over 20 years of coaching experience at the high school level. He was the head Football coach, head frosh Basketball coach, and Track and Field coach at Chatsworth High School. He uses his former coaching experience to help his archers be prepared to compete at a high level.
